Advising Services and Resources
The Student Organizations office enriches the Colorado State University campus community by providing excellent service while working to develop:
- Equal and diverse communities
- Interactive networks
- Group collaborations
- Leadership skills
- Personal, social and intellectual outlets
Through these involvement experiences, students learn valuable life long skills.
Services
Registration and Recognition: Student organizations annually register through our office in order to be recognized with the University and to receive benefits.
Leadership Consultation: If your organization is having problems with leadership, our office will send a leadership consultant who will evaluate the problem and will aide in building solutions.
RamPoint Portal: Registered student organizations can request group access to the CSU portal. Stop by the office to complete the necessary form.
Bookkeeping: The office maintains over 200 financial accounts. We also provide monthly statements, Authorized Financial Expenditure ( AFE ) and Intramural Orders ( IMO ) and Acard usage to the organizations who have accounts with us.
Travel: The office processes travel documents for student organization travel as well as guest speaker travel.
Resources
Resource Room: A resource room is available for registered student organization use. The room offers computers, printers, paper, general office supplies, paint, etc. (see next page for additional info). General use of the room is free as ASCSU pays the usage fee for all registered student groups.
Fundraising: We can provide you with ideas and resources as well as help find a great location for your fund-raiser. We also have information on receiving outside funding (i.e. ASCSU, grants).
Leadership Development: A quick-tip brochure series is available on topics that relate to improving and maintaining your organization. We also work with Student Leadership & Civic Engagement to develop these publications and services.
Programming: We can help plan and develop events as well as brainstorm programming ideas. We also work with the Association for Student Activity and Programming (ASAP) in order to plan more effective events and programs.
The Source: This up-to-date guide provides your organization with the information needed to properly function in the University communities.
University Policies: We can provide you with publications that outline your responsibilities (i.e. posting, advertising) and a list of policies the University requires of an organization.
Canopy Reservations: Our office has 10x10x10 canopies for your organizations to rent for on campus events. Contact our office for prices and to make your reservations.
Annual Office Events
Student Involvement Fair: Offered on August 30, 2006 on the LSC Plaza and Jan. 24, 2007 in the LSC Main Ballroom, join the thousands of students that learn about diverse involvement opportunities available through student organizations.
Officer Orientations: Offered several times throughout the year, these orientations are a requirement for the president and treasurer of each student organization seeking CSU recognition.
Student Organizations Awards & Recognition (SOAR) & Advisor Gratitude awards: The purpose of this program is to encourage and support leadership and involvement at CSU by recognizing and awarding students, organizations and advisors with trophies and certificates for their efforts and hard work throughout the year. This year's program will be on May 3, 2007, in the LSC Main Ballroom.
