Registration Process
Criteria for Recognition
Student organizations desiring official University recognition must meet the following minimum standards:
- Have a clearly defined lawful purpose.
- An updated and completed registration form must be turned into the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLiCE) Office annually.
- All executive positions must be held by CSU students and the majority of the executive positions must be held by different people.
- If affiliated with a national organization, a letter of affiliation must be included with the constitution.
- Have a minimum of four CSU student members.
- A majority of members must be CSU students.
- Have an advisor who is a full-time faculty or staff member at CSU. A CSU graduate student may serve as an advisor with written permission from their academic advisor.
- The president/chairperson and treasurer must attend an officer's orientation session annually.
- Have an adequate system of accounting for organization funds.
- Comply with University policies and regulations pertaining to organizations.
- All officers' names are a matter of public record at CSU. Please be advised that we do give out names, addresses, and telephone numbers when we get requests.
